First Ever: Workers Memorial Mass at St. Patrick's in Bay Shore

Every Year on Workers Memorial Day in NYC, St. Patrick's Cathedral hosts a standing room only Mass honoring all those in the Building Trades who died on the job. Here on Long Island, we have a Memorial Service at the NYS Office Building, but we at Local 66 reached out to other unions on Long Island to organize the first ever Workers Memorial Mass at beautiful St. Patrick's Church on Main Street in Bay Shore. We are asking all those who wear hard hats to bring them for there will be a special blessing of the hard hats. It is a very moving sight to see a sea of building trades hard hats in the church. St. Joseph, the patron Saint of Workers, pray for us. See you at the Mass and spread the word Local 66.

After Mass, Declan Quinn's of Bay Shore located at 227 4th Ave near the Bay Shore Train Station, has agreed to put out some food for all the members who attend the Mass. This Mass and event is being co-organized by Local 66, IBEW Local 1049 (LIPA/National Grid), CWA Local 1104 (Verizon), Local 259 UAW (Auto Dealerships) and UCOMM Radio.
